Platis Gialos is located on the southern coast, between some very popular beaches, and it is just about 5 km away from the main town – Chora. That is why getting there shouldn’t take longer than 15 minutes, even if you take a public bus.

Qualified instructors offer lessons for beginners in activities such as wakeboarding, water skiing, and speed boat riding. Most of these recommended activities are family-friendly, so even if you travel to Mykonos with children, you can enjoy spending an active day here.
Where Is Little Venice Located? No Matter Where You’re Staying, You Can Easily Find It if You Visit the Main Town
Little Venice is one of the most popular Mykonos attractions, and it is located right in the heart of the island’s main town Chora, at the waterfront. This area is also home to the famous five windmills, so it’s no wonder it’s one of the most photographed places and popular Instagram spots. The main town is located on the island’s west coast, and Little Venice is just 5 minutes away from the main bus station, Fabrika.
With its picturesque colorful buildings and views to die for, visiting this place should be the first thing on your bucket list. You’ll easily find this area if you choose to visit the main town Chora, it stretches from Alefkandra Beach all the way to the Venetian castle in the northwestern part.
How Far From Platis Gialos Beach Is Little Venice, Mykonos?
If you check the map, you’ll see that Platis Gialos is located about 5 km from Chora, where Little Venice is. From there, to get to this paradise beach, you need to head in the southeast direction. Along this way, while leaving the town, you can see many outstanding restaurants, amazing shops, glamorous hotels, and many luxury Mykonos villas for rental.
In case you’re also visiting some of the neighboring beaches, such as Paraga Beach, Paradise, or Agia Anna, you should know that Platis Gialos is within walking distance from them, so you can walk here without getting tired. If you continue walking in the same direction, you will reach Psarou Beach, which is another popular tourist destination.
There are several transportation options you can use to travel between these two points, so let’s see which one is the best one.
Public Bus Might Be the Most Convenient Option
Buses depart from the main station Fabrika (near windmills and the old port) and make stops at all the popular beaches on the island, including this one. Once you get to the station and buy a bus ticket, make sure to check with the driver if he plans to stop there (sometimes they will miss the stop if no one goes there).
If Platis Gialos is where you’re heading, the bus will leave you outside the Perasos Hotel, which is just a few steps away from this beautiful beach.
You Can Rent a Car or Take a Taxi
We have already explained how to get to Platis Gialos from Fabrika main station by bus, but you are probably familiar with other convenient transportation options such as Mykonos taxi. A ride from the main town to this beach, or vice versa, should cost you about €10 in one direction, but you should check with the driver in advance just to be sure if the offered price suits your budget.
Another transportation option for getting around this island is to rent a private car. You could even request a private chauffeur, so you can feel comfortable knowing that a driver will pick you up and drive you from point A to point B.
Trying to Walk Between These Two Places Is Not Recommended
Busy and not-so-walkable roads, sun, and summer heat are only some of the reasons why this would not be a walk in the park. If you’re still up for it, it’s not impossible – just make sure you wear something comfortable and are protected from the sun.
If you want to try something new, renting a quad might be an interesting option – it is a pretty popular vehicle for getting around the Cyclades. Check out this video to find out more about this method of transportation.
